Can you go to your office or college or school without a vehicle? What would have happened if we had no roads to walk on? And a bridge over any river makes easy to go from one end to another. How about going too far off places without trains and planes? Thanks to Engineers for developing different machines and many other everyday applications that make our life so easy. Life seems impossible without engineering inventions. Technical innovations have opened up many ways and it must continue to do this in future also.

Do you know who the first engineer is? Well don’t worry as no one knows about it and about the first engineering device either. Unfortunately that information has lost. Engineers date back to the ancient times when first inventions such as pulley, lever & axe were made. Earlier engineers worked only for military purposes and with time they started designing civilian structures such as roads & buildings.

Do you know how Civil engineering came into existence?

Military engineers also took part in building projects for civilians use and from this use of military in civilian engineering , a new branch of engineering came up which is known as Civil Engineering. Now many engineering branches have evolved like Aeronautical, Agricultural, Bio-medical, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Structural, Electronics & Communications, Computers, Chemical, Electrical Engineering and many others.

Engineering education is being considered among the key enablers of growth and development of a countries economy. So research in engineering education will play a vital role in country’s development. Engineering has became a most preferred choice of the students now a days. This demand has resulted a mushrooming of large number of engineering colleges in country.
